A classic 19th century sampler worked by Mary Wright aged only 8 in 1853.
A simple border contains the alphabet in both upper (2 styles) and lower case letters with numbers 1 to 10 filling the end on rows, amusingly 1,2,& 3 on the second row the rest squashed at the end of the bottom band).
A traditional verse with spot motifs above the sewers details. MARY WRIGHT Aged 8 1853. A large basket of flowers at the bottom finishes her sampler. |
