A beautiful classic English darning sampler worked with a traditional bouquet of flowers in the centre with four multi coloured darns in each corner. unusual for any sampler is the continuous border of flowers all in pairs and bending inwards to the sampler.
signed at the bottom MARY NORMAN and dated 1806.
Framed in a period maple frame measuring 16 3/4 inches square, 42.5 cm.
Condition fine. good colour, no colour run or damage. |
