A striking mid 18th century Scottish Alphabet sampler signed NARGARET DUFF My work 1766.
The large curly alphabet adapted from earlier Dutch samplers dominate this sampler. Above this five bands of smaller style alphabets with initials of relatives. including ID & IA her parents !.
The only Margaret we could find was one born & Baptized April 1756, from Largo Fifeshire. but her parents appear to be John & Euphemia (Tulles) |
