An exceptional early 19th century silk sampler depicting a central basket of flowers above a village scene with cottages windmill and hay stack.
Lidia was born in the Bethnal Green area of London. She probably learnt much of her sewing techniques from Ann her mother a shawl & bonnet maker rather than Jonathan her father a Plumber. In 1841 she is listed as a Dress maker. |
