Multiplication tables were an effective way of a girl learning both her marking skills with the needle as well as her times table.
They are more often associated with Scottish schools as in this fine small exampler from Dunfirmline Fife.
The wonderfully named Euphemia was born in about 1820 to Isabella & Charles Ramage.
