A good mid 17th century silk needlework depicting a central female figure walking out with her dog, from her large castle like palace on the left. She is depicted surrounded by flora and mystical beasts including a unicorn and wyvern and more common animals such as a Lion and squirrel.
The two column like trees, an apple & Pear have been stitched in raised work that gives them a wonderful three dimensional feel to the picture. |
