  STAFFORDSHIRE MARRIAGE JUG 1824. £SOLD  
A Staffordshire pink luster pottery wedding jug.

The front is hand painted 'Henry & Elizabeth Brough Long may you live Happy may you be Blest with content & from misfortune free 1824'.

The sides are decorated with a handpainted pink luster house.

18 cm high x 15.5 cm wide x 21 cm deep.

William Henry Brough married Elizabeth Charlotte Seargeant on 8.1.1824. He worked as a rent collector. Interestingly they had four children, one Adelaide becoming a straw hat maker and Ellen worked in the Potteries, followed by two of her children becoming china painters.
