We have always loved those objects that may reflect their owners. This wonderful late 18th century snuff box, may have a hand painted image of a member of the legal system, but it did not belong to one !. the faint inscription reads "A Country Just Ass" and on the paper he holds "Burn in...". If only we knew the whole story these objects could tell. |
