We have never seen a sampler like this exceptional whitework. Signed AH and dated 1857 it is inscribed FABRIQUE DE BONNETERIE DE PARIS, SOUTFORT, RUE DE LA MONNAIE No.9 (PARIS HOSIERY FACTORY, SOUTFORT, RUE DE LA MONNAIE).
Although called a factory this is hand worked with the crowns of not only France but most of Europe. |
