He died April 24, 1960, on Pitcairn. He was the son of Alphonso Christian and Sarah McCoy. He married Anne Elizabeth Warren, daughter of Samuel Russell Warren and Agnes Christian, on July 12, 1909, on Pitcairn Island. He died on April 24, 1960, at age 73, on Pitcairn Island. While out goat shooting on December 31, 1907, with his friend Robert Young, William accidently shot and killed Young. "Lancy lived a quiet, consistent Christian life, and he was a man loved and respected by all. We tenderly laid him to rest in the Pitcairn cemetery at the edge of the tall cliffs to await the call of the Life-giver." |
