It is interesting to know the history of an object that has survived. this classic Northern Salt kit is illustrated in Mary Wondrusch book on slipware page 125, where she goes into some detail on salt kits, in the pictures it appears perfect, but now unfortunately it would appear she broke it her self.... part of its history !. In the book she regarded it as 18th century... I think not.
