A wonderful and very personal loving cup, inscribed H.VALLIS 1850 Yeoman on one side and Welcome Friend on the other.
The loving cup of probable Bristol Manufacture.
It would appear that this was made to commemorate the birth of his Son James born in North Cadbury Somerset in 1850, James appears to have become a Mason, married to Elizabeth Jane and lived at Chapple Farm, South Cadbury.
H. Vallis or Henry Varllis was born 1794/ 1801 Eaverveach Somerset, their seems to be some confusion, was a farmer of 34 acres married Alice lived in North Town Cadbury. |
