There is very little that is truly new in ceramics particularly slipware, much is reworking of traditional designs and wares. In our opinion Coldstone pottery is amongst the best bringing a unique style to their wares that has now become 60 years on, iconic .
Chris Harris a country potter at Coldstone, was joined in 1958 by his son in-law Dieter Kunzemann ( born Leipzig in east German in 1928- died 2011) and produced these decorative and domestic slipware dishes using yellow sip on his own black glazes, his recipes Chris kept in the safe !. |
