Flat stick up decoys of geese are traditionally used on the corn fields of America, after harvest to attract the migrating flocks down to the ground. Large numbers are generally required so flat dummy birds are ideal. Although they can be brought commercially made of card, board or ply wood , the early examples were produced in tin many are hand made by the farmer during the winter months.
Although these are not of any real age they are hand painted and still look great. |
