MOCHA WARE
Originaly and properly relating to slip-decorated earthenware with dendritic patterns the term now incorperates all earthenware decorated with coloured slips. Patterns now have names such as cable, earthworm, cats eye or tobacco leaf. Produced in both England and France production started in the 1770s and has not rearly been out, mak'ing it the longest form of production decoration in English Ceramics. |
