Sarah Jane was born Oct.1806 to Sarah Ambrosia (nee Croke) and William Moon. she married The Rev. John Omer Squire a Baptist Minister. at St.Nicholas Deptford first moving to Saffron Walden in Essex, before moving back to Kent It is thought she died in 1834 aged only 27. They had three children..
Mathematical or times table samplers were both a way of both practicing stitch work and learning her times table. More commonly found on Scottish samplers.
It is very unusual to find such a sampler by a girl as young as 7 years old.
